Misty Gone After Wild Fights!

February 16th, 2006

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

Misty is voted off tonight. Here’s what happened…

Bruce came back from Exile Island to replace Melinda who was voted off last week. He immediately tells everyone that he’s been teaching backpacking for 30 years and shows them how to strain the water so they could drink it, since they don’t have fire.

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

I know you’re thinking that straining water through a tee shirt won’t get out all the bacteria, and you’d be right, but this is Cassaya with Shane and Cirie and Courtney. These winners think it’s a great idea and drink up.

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

Shane hates Bruce talking about how much he knows, but everyone else seems happy that someone has a clue, since no one else on this tribe does. They are all happy that Bruce is there now. Their spirits are buoyed. Bruce thinks he’s the king of the world and everyone is happy. Except Shane, who hates everyone, but then, you knew that. More… »

Survivor, A Horrific Night On Exile Island

“Crazy Fights, Snake Dinners” — The castaway banished to Exile Island faces one of the worst nights in SURVIVOR history, on SURVIVOR: PANAMA — EXILE ISLAND, Thursday, Feb. 16 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The Survivor chosen to go to Exile Island desperately tries to endure a horrendous night of bitingly cold winds and torrential rain with no shelter for protection. One castaway proves to be an all-star at the Reward Challenge which then brings a major win for a starving tribe. Bickering starts early for one tribe and leaves some castaways questioning there premature alliances. Call it superstition or plain coincidence, but one group’s interesting dinner gives more than strength to a weak tribe. And, the third member is voted out of the tribe.

“Master Plan” Sinks Survivor’s Melinda

Insider - tvguide.com
by Allison Corneau

After CBS’ Survivor: Panama ?á?í?ì Exile Island (Thursdays at 8 pm/ET) condensed four tribes to two last week in an old-fashioned schoolyard pick, Tennessee native Melinda Hyder was the second player to be sent packing, allowing Bruce to take her place on the Casaya tribe. TVGuide.com chatted with Hyder about Shane’s “master plan,” her idea of a perfect reality-show pairing, and, despite her ability to start a fire from scratch, why she’ll never allow a real fireplace in her home.

TVGuide.com: That schoolyard pick would have given me terrible flashbacks of being chosen last for grade-school dodgeball!

Melinda Hyder: It honestly didn’t bother me that I was picked last. I was happy to be on Cirie’s tribe because Cirie and I had made an alliance from Day 1. It was only after my tribe started talking and I could tell the way they were that I knew Cirie and I were in trouble.

TVGuide.com: Is there anyone from the La Mina tribe you wish you could have teamed up with? More… »

Brandon Bellinger Survives After “Survivor”

WIBW
Stephanie Wurtz

A year and a half ago, Brandon Bellinger didn’t have a plan for his life.

He definitely didn’t think he’d be living in the jungle battling it out on a hit reality show.

Now, he’s back on the farm, but Brandon’s not the same person who left for Guatemala last summer. More… »

CBS.com puts up downloads of ‘Survivor’

February 12th, 2006

Unofficial Survivor Guide

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - CBS will make episodes from the next edition of its “Survivor” franchise available for download on CBS.com, marking the first time a network has offered its programming for purchase from its own Web site, the network said Wednesday.

For $1.99 per episode, visitors to http://www.CBS.com can download full episodes of “Survivor: Panama — Exile” starting at midnight following each episode’s premiere on the broadcast network. “Survivor: Panama” debuts Thursday night in its regular 8 p.m. time slot. The episode will be viewable for up to 24 hours from the time it’s purchased; the episodes will be available for downloading from the site through June, CBS said.

The move follows CBS’s partnership announced in early January with Google, which made episodes from past editions of “Survivor”– along with other current CBS primetime hits “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “NCIS,” and “The Amazing Race” — available for purchase through the Google Video Store service.

Episode 2- Breakdown: Melinda Voted Off!

February 9th, 2006

Melinda is voted off tonight. I forgot to plug in my cable box for the computer, so we’ll have no images. Here’s what happened tonight:

The old men were getting soaked in the lightning and rain after last week’s Tribal Council. The older women had no clue how to start a fire after losing Tina. The young women enjoyed papaya so much that Misty said it was “orgasmically good”. Can you say that on TV?

Shane basically whined about missing people back home and how much he hated being out there. It was boring. It was so hard to do nothing. Poor baby. I wish I had a chance to lay on a tropical beach with nothing to do for a while.

New Tribes - I was surprised last week by how many readers sent me email and were upset because they called them “older” women or men. What do you want them to be called, “Youth Impaired”? This time it was a school yard pick. They all had to go stand on discs, divided men and women. Under one disc for each group was a buff and that person was the first pick. Men had to pick women and women had to pick men. The order picked for each team is:

La Mina Wearing orange buffs

  1. Terry Deitz - OM
  2. Sally Schumann - YW
  3. Austin Carty - YM
  4. Misty Giles - YW
  5. Nick Stanbury - YM
  6. Ruth Marie Milliman - OW
  7. Dan Barry - OM

Cassaya Wearing purple buffs

  1. Danielle DiLorenzo - YW
  2. Shane Powers - OM
  3. Courtney Marit - YW
  4. Aras Baskauskas - YM
  5. Cirie Fields - OW
  6. Bobby Mason - YM
  7. Melinda Hyder - OW
  • Bruce Kanegai - OM

Bruce was left standing. He was sent to Exile Island and would remain there for 3 days, until AFTER the Tribal Council, where he gets to sit in and listen while they vote. He essentially got immunity for the next round. He would replace who ever gets voted off at Tribal Council.

Reward Challenge - This is a race over an obstacle course where each team has to go through each stage before they can go to the next stage. Along the way, they pick up 6 wooden snakes and one person has to carry them all. The first tribe to get all 6 snakes wins. La Mina wins and gets a reward of fishing gear and a raft. I was expecting a cool rubber raft, but it’s only a lashed together bunch of bamboo with paddles.

Shane decides to be happy now that he’s on a new team. Cirie and Melinda are feeling the pressure of being “youth impaired” on the Cassaya tribe. Melinda’s quote: “We’re screwed”.

…And indeed they are. Shane, Aras, Courtney, and Danielle immediately strike up a deal to be friends for life. Those hip, young, cool kids stick together.

Dan is also happy on La Mina. He and Terry are on the same tribe now and have sworn a bond for life. Terry makes an all male alliance with Dan, Austin and Nick and they all shake hands. But, wait, what do we have here? Misty and Aras want Austin and Nick to be in an alliance also. Austin and Nick are in the middle. Oh, the drama!

Clues - Bruce gets Tree Mail with a second clue to the hidden Immunity Idol. The first clue is now written out and we can see that the word “Why” is in parentheses twice in the clue. The clue is: You will have a lot of time to think about “why” fate chose you to be the 1st one out here, which is also “why” immunity is already so important. As for the clue to the immunity idol, I’ve already given it to you. On the back of the clue sheet is a map of the island with the middle marked red and the words “It’s not located here”. Bruce proceeds to practice Karate and sleep in the rain. We don’t see anything else of Bruce for 3 days.

Day 6 - Sally and Nick go out fishing for La Mina and Sally immediately loses the spear into deep water. She dives, but can’t find it. They have no fish. Everyone tells her it’s OK, as they plot her death.

Immunity Challenge - “How are things?” Jeff asks. Misty says they are great and Shane says that he’s not going to lie, it’s terrible. “We’re dire” and goes on to whine some more. He’s the new Stephanie when it comes to whining about things.

The challenge is to take a zombie head in a boat, out in the water, to shore and place it on the zombie body. These challenge designers have been spending way too much time watching DVDs in remote jungles or something. Where do they come up with this stuff?

Anyway, the boats are anchored to heavy chests at the bottom of the water and they have to dive down and drag the chests. Blah, blah, people jumping in water, blah, blah. La Mina totally wins. Cassaya is so bad at this that it’s not even close. Losers.

So now, Shane is bummed again. So he whines about it. “This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done in my whole life.” he tells us. He tells his tribe “I want you guys to vote me off.” This shocks everyone except Melinda and Cirie, who see their chance. “This is the worst thing that ever happened to me in my whole life”. Boo hoo, Shane. Boo freaking hoo.

Aras talks Shane into staying. He’ll “try it” he says. That’s my big boy! Here, let me give you a hankie.

Aras, the master of tact and interpersonal skills, goes into camp and tells everyone that Shane will stay and that he wants to be honest, so “It’s down to physical strength, so it will be either Melinda or Cirie that goes home tonight.” Shane gets up and says the same thing. The girls are freaked out because you don’t tell people that they are not part of the alliance. They know you sneak up behind them. Shane once more is an idiot.

Tribal Council - Shane whines about how bad everything is, but he wants to stay even though “It’s the worst thing to ever happen to me in my life.” Shane! We heard you the first 5 times you told us that. Melinda and Cirie are hurt and mad and cry. They vote 4 to 2 and Melinda goes home. Sorry, dude.

Next week, Shane complains some more and I think people get to sleep in the rain again.

Who is more annoying, Shane or Stephanie? Tell us in the forum!

Old Guys Rule! Tina Goes Home!

February 2nd, 2006

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

4 tribes started this season’s Survivor, Older Men, Older Women, Younger Men, Younger Women. They are introduced on Exile Island. The first challenge is for one person to run to the other end of the island to a pile of skulls. Grab a skull and smash it to reveal a tightly wrapped cloth which contains either a rock or an amulet. First three teams back get the reward of fire and the loser leaves someone on the island.

“Survivors ready. Go!” It’s been a long time since we’ve heard those words. Austin, Ruth, Danielle, and Terry take off running, smashing and unwrapping. 1st back is Terry for the Older Men, followed by Austin and Ruth. Bringing up the rear is Younger woman, Danielle.

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

They immediately have to pick someone to spend the night on Exile Island. They just met minutes before, so they do “paper, scissors, rock” to decide who to leave behind. Misty wins, er, loses and gets to, er, has to stay behind.

Jeff has explains that one person will be chosen in each tribal council to spend days on Exile Island. They will join their tribe for the next immunity challenge. On exile Island is hidden an immunity idol. They will be given clues to find it. If someone finds it, they can wait until AFTER the tribal Council vote to reveal that they have it. If they are to be voted out, but have the idol, then the person with the next amount of votes is voted out instead.

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

After everyone else is gone, Jeff tells her (and listen carefully. I backed it up 4 times to get exactly what he said) “You will have a lot of time to think about why fate chose you to be the 1st one out here, which is also why immunity is already so important. As for the clue to the immunity idol, I’ve already given it to you”. What the heck? What kind of a clue is that? What do you think it could mean?

Survivor - Panama - Exile Island

So, Misty is left lone and remembers him saying that “fate left her behind” so it must be behind her. (???) She digs in the dirt. (???!) She’s not going to make it far in this game.

Back at camp, the older women struggle setting up camp. Cirie says, and I quote, “I’m afraid of leaves”. Tina gets the fire going. Tina gathers the wood. Tina does everything. More… »
