It?á?í?ôs not often folks get an invitation to spend 30 days in some remote land, starved, bug-bitten and tortured mentally and physically. It?á?í?ôs even rarer that they would line up for the opportunity.
But when the payoff is $1 million, and the show is the top-rated ?á?í?Survivor,?á?í? people get in line.
Locally, the line will start at Cabellero?á?í?ôs Landeck Tavern where, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, hopeful survivors can audition for the show. A second round of auditions will be held Jan. 25 at Buffalo Wild Wings Bar and Grill in Lima.
Representatives from WLMO-TV will be on hand at both auditions to conduct and videotape interviews with the would-be contestants. Those interviews will then be forwarded to the show?á?í?ôs producers for judging.
?á?í?Basically, they come out and they have two minutes to get in front of the camera and tell CBS why they should be on ?á?í?Survivor,?á?í? said Mike Sauve, WLMO sales manager.
Participants are asked to bring a completed application to the auditions. Applications and rules are available through a link on the WLMO Web site, www.cbslima.com.
WLMO is one of only two Ohio CBS stations holding official auditions for the show. Sauve said the station has received application requests from as far away as New York.
?á?í?We?á?í?ôve had people from all over the Midwest get in touch with us. We had one guy from West Virginia send us a picture in a bikini,?á?í? Sauve said. ?á?í?He said where he was they had 800 people show up for the auditions so he was hoping to come down here and maybe get noticed a little more.?á?í?
