After Party in the Forum

December 16th, 2005

Reality TV Forums at Survivor.com

Yeah…the afterparty was fun. Quite loud and packed, but fun. There were a bunch of former Survivors there, including Jon Dalton (JFP)…I could’ve done without his presence. He’s proven he’ll stoop to whatever level to keep his 15 minutes going. But it was really fun hanging out with all the contestants over the weekend, especially with me being a HUGE Survivor fan since season 1. It was a once in a lifetime kinda thing.

Jamie and I have been friends for about 8 years. We worked together at a radio station in Georgia. He was still in highschool (or had just graduated…not sure). Jamie is a really down to earth guy. What you see with him is what you get. He’s the same no matter who he’s with. You’ve got to respect that. We kind of lost touch when he went out to Missouri to go to school, and I moved out of town too. Since he graduated college, I started seeing and hanging out with him again since he comes back to town more often (I’ve moved back to Douglas now too). His twin Ramie and I hang out a lot since he lives around here.

As for people…Brandon is a really cool guy. He’s kinda reserved, but really seems genuine. Judd is what you pictured…loud and full of energy. His whole family was really funny the WHOLE time. There is no down time with that bunch. Lydia is nice…really mom-like. Very gracious. Rafe was really nice. Gary didn’t really go out with us after the show, but his kids did. Amy is hilarious. She’s quite the dancer! Didn’t really see that much of Margaret, Brooke, or Brianna. Blake wasn’t lying about his girlfriend! Nice! Bobby Jon seems really cool. A southern gentleman. He and Jamie are really good friends now. Jim was nice. He hung out the after party with us all. Morgan is quite exciting! HAHA! She loves to party. Stephenie was nice enough. Unfortunately, I’d formed an opinion of her on the show that really couldn’t be swayed. Plus she kinda kept her distance from most of us. Didn’t really hang out with us all (she flew with Danni to NY right after the finale ended). She is a very pretty girl though. Danni is amazingly gorgeous in person! Damn! She was pretty funny talking about how she gorged herself when she was done with the show. Brian’s a really nice guy. He is probably the biggest Survivor fan in the world! He knows the game inside and out and can tell you who was voted out when on every season. Truly amazing. Didn’t really get to talk with Cindy much, so I can’t say about her.

Did I miss anyone? Hope not. All in all, everyone on the show that I spoke with was really fun to chat with, and nobody seemed really caught up in the whole “I’m on tv” deal. I think they were in awe at the attention that they got.

Danni Wins It All!

December 11th, 2005

More Photos Tomorrow! Come Back then!

Rafe won the first immunity. Lydia was voted off first. then Danni won immunity. She had to choose who to take with her to the final 2 and picked the wicked witch of the East, Stephanie. How could she lose?

The Final Four was Lydia, Rafe, Danni, and Stephanie. The first immunity challenge was to run through a maze and get puzzle pieces, then solve the puzzle. Lots of shots of running people, but Rafe got there first and solved the puzzle first. Rafe wins immunity.

They all say nice things and pretend to think hard about the decision, but they all vote off Lydia. That was an easy vote.

Then there were three. The last immunity challenge had them standing on unsteady, ball mounted platforms and holding on to ropes for balance. I guess the producers were tired of waiting the 18 hours until someone jumped off into the water like last season. The first hour, they got to hang on to 2 ropes, one in each hand. Then for a half hour, they could only hold on to one rope. At the end of the 30 minutes, they had to let go of both ropes.

The strange thing that happened was that they lost balance with one rope and ended up leaning against the frame holding up the ropes. One foot on the platform and leaning against the frame and they could not touch anything with their hands. Rafe adjusted himself to get comfortable and touched the pole. Buzzz. You’re out.

Danni just stayed there and hardly moved. Stephanie, whoever, slowly slid down the pole. She whined and slid until she hit the ground. She tried really hard, but hit the ground.

Then she cries.

Danni wins the final immunity and has to choose who to take into the final two. But Steph is sitting on the ground, crying. Danni and Rafe go over to comfort her. Rafe feels sorry for Stephanie, so he tells Danni that she is released from the commitment that they made to take each other to the final two. She can take Steph is she wants to. (What an idiot!)

They all talk and say nice things to each other. Rafe and Steph both tell her ot take the other person, to vote with her heart, blah, blah, blah. Danni says she can’t decide, but I’m sure she knew the jury all hated Steph.

When the final tribal council comes, Danni stabs Rafe in the back and takes Stephanie. Of course, Rafe told her that would be OK, but Rafe is upset about it. In his final words, he promises to vote for Steph for final survivor. I think that was her only vote.

During the tribal council questions, everyone asks both Danni and Steph why they did what they did. Judd was the most entertaining when he accused Danni os skating through the game and went off on Steph. Judd really hates Steph. They take the final vote. Jeff takes a helicopter ride that lasts from August 30, when they were done filming unti Dec 11, when they do the reveal. Steph gets one vote and Danni takes the $million.

Next season will be “Survivor Panama, Exile Island”, where one person will spend 3 days on Exile Island by themselves after each tribal council. Stay tuned!

Are you glad Danni won? Did Steph deserve it more? Tell us in the forum.

Jeff signs NEW DEAL

Reality TV Forums at Survivor.com

LOS ANGELES - Jeff Probst said he’s decided that life without “Survivor” wouldn’t be as much fun and he’s sticking with the CBS reality series.

“I was thinking about retiring and spending my time traveling to exotic locations around the world, meeting new and interesting people. Then I realized, uh, wait a second, I’m already doing that with ‘Survivor’ and getting paid for it, as well,” Probst, 44, said in a statement Thursday.

He has signed a new multiyear deal, CBS spokesman Chris Ender said.

In October, Probst had said he was weighing whether to continue with the show. He’s served as host since “Survivor” debuted in summer 2000 and his current contract was through the edition now in production.

Mark Burnett, the show’s executive producer, welcomed Probst’s decision to remain as host and producer, lauding his contributions to the “ever-evolving game” in which players face physical and mental challenges in a bid to win $1 million.

“I consider him a friend and look forward to continuing to keep ‘Survivor’ fresh with Jeff for many more seasons,” Burnett said in a statement.

Last month, CBS announced that it will air the 13th and 14th versions of “Survivor” in the 2006-07 season.

That 12th edition, being filmed at an undisclosed location, is to be broadcast next spring. The finale for the current show, “Survivor: Guatemala,” is Sunday, Dec. 11th

Guatemala Spoilers - Does This person really win?

December 9th, 2005

Guatemala Spoilers - Reality TV Forums at Survivor.com

Well, I haven’t personally seen the screencaps supporting this “spoiler”, but according to several seperate sources, CBS goofed and had a promo on The Early Show stating they’d have the Survivor Guatemala winner in studio on Monday, then they showed a pic of (go to the forums to find out who…). It seems they caught the mistake and fixed it for the following promo, showing the pic of all four rather than just (deleted). There are supposed to be screencaps floating around showing the error, but as I said, I haven’t personally seen them.

Is this wishful thinking on my part? I don’t know… seems a likely possibility to me. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Read who is rumored to win in the forums!

Cindy Caught by Car Curse

The Final Five is a gay man and 4 women . The last 4 episodes saw the big, strong men voted off in the curse of testosterone. Tonight was reward challenge for the car.

The producers ran out of ideas for challenges again, so they repeated a lot of the ones they used already. People fell off the balance beam, missed their tiles, and it came down to Cindy and Steph in the final task. Cindy won and got to ride the cart down the hill. She wins the car!

But wait! In the last ten seasons of Survivor, no one who won the car went on to win the million bucks. Jeff gives Cindy a choice. She can keep the car OR she can give a new car to each of the other 4 instead.

Should she take the sure thing and keep the car for herself or make everyone who has a vote in the tribal council indebted to her. Make everyone mad or make everyone love you? HHhhmmm. Hard decision. Cindy takes the sure thing and drives off to the BBQ with Steph to enjoy the new car smell.

Cindy has no clue that anyone is angry as she drones on and on about how great it is. When Rafe talks to Steph, she is surprised to hear that Rafe would not even have thought about it and given everyone the cars. Steph, the kind, generous personal that she is, never thinking of herself, is shocked by Rafe’s attitude.

The immunity challenge has them being shackled and given keys to unlock locks that allow them to unwind ropes from poles. Whoever gets everything unlocked and run with their rope to their flag first, wins immunity. Steph, the strong, deserving one, finally wins. This is the first individual challenge that she has ever won in two seasons of Survivor.

Then she cries.

Rafe talks Steph into flipping once more. Cindy chooses Steph to share a BBQ and spend the night with her in Cindy’s reward and then Steph stabs her in the back.

During the tribal council questions, everyone is nervous except Cindy who stands by her decision to not give anyone else a car and justifies it even more. This endears her to all the others who then vote her off.

Cindy’s parting shot? “I’ll be thinking of ya’ll when I look at the stars through the sun roof of my new car.” That’s good because you’ll never se the million bucks.

Are you glad she got voted off? Who will win it all? Tell us in the forum.

Survivor 12 - Panama

December 6th, 2005

Filming begins Tuesday in the Pearl Islands of Panama for a new “Survivor.” Once again the 354-room Hotel Contadora Resort on Contadora Island is serving as the command center for the upcoming $275 million production of this mega-hit television show.

Mark Burnett, the show?á?í?ôs creator, is clearly attracted to the rugged beauty, the remoteness, and the rich pirate history of the Pearl Islands, an archipelago of nearly 200 islands 20 minutes by air from Panama City. This will be the third time that he has filmed the show there. The area was the location for “Survivor 7″ in 2003 and “Survivor All-Stars” in 2004.

The security around the Hotel Contadora is significant. Most of Playa Larga, the largest beach on the island, has been roped off. Only the 350 crew members staying in the hotel and the locals with an official ID are allowed to enter. The guards tell everyone else that ?á?í?the hotel is undergoing renovations?á?í? and not to proceed another step.

CBS “Survivor 12″ airs Feb. 6 right after the Super Bowl.

Show Schedule

December 5th, 2005

There’s on one more Thursday night show on Dec. 8 and then there’s the Sunday night 2 hour special with the final 4 on Sunday, Dec. 11.

We got a report of DVRs not being automatically set to record these shows, so check yours and make sure you get them set up correctly.

It’s almost over folks! Don’t miss a minute.

Rafe has a huge lead in the “Who Will Win?” poll in the forums. I think he has a chance, but I’m not sure it’s this clear. I think there are others who have a pretty good chance also. Lydia will not win it. I’m thinking that Cindy won’t either, but she’s been pretty loyal and under the radar.

Danni is the fairly clear leader in the “Who Do You WANT to Win?” poll. I think she might pull it off too. We’ll see.

Rafe? Danni? Steph? Who do YOU want to win?

Scumbags Vote Off Judd!

December 2nd, 2005

The reward challenge was an auction, which included food and visits from family members. Danni bought an “advantage in the immunity challenge”. Judd won the family visit with his wife. Where did he get such a cute wife? He got to choose two others to have their family visit also. He chose Steph’s boyfriend and Cindy’s twin sister, Mindy. This of course made Rafe, Danni, and Lydia unhappy. They had to stay the night at the old camp and spent the afternoon scheming against Judd.

Rafe said about Judd that you “can trust that you can’t trust him”. The next day, people were talking. Danni talked to Steph about Judd and how he’d do anything to win. Steph flipped and agreed to vote him off. They didn’t tell Cindy.

The immunity challenge was a game that required “smarts”, so Judd was screwed from the beginning. They had to flip tiles on a large game board and move to the tile they flipped. When they run out of unflipped tiles to move to, they are out of the game. Danni’s advantage was the ability to swap places with anyone at any time. She swapped with Steph half way through and won immunity. She needed it more than anyone, so this was good timing for her.

During the tribal council questions, Judd graciously tells us that they’re all wanting someone to vote off and whoever gets voted off just has to deal with it. When the vote comes, it’s 4 to 2 to vote Judd off. Steph stabbed him in the back. Judd was gracious after the vote and told everyone “Thanks, guys. I hope you all get bit by a freaking crocodile, you scumbags”. Great guy.

Judd, you’re right. You just have to deal with it.

Are you glad he got voted off? Tell us in the forum.
