CBS has announced that the 18th season of their hit reality show ‘Survivor’ will take place in Tocantins, Brazil. The network made the announcement after the season finale of ‘Survivor Gabon,’ won by 56-year-old Bob Crowley.
“In the new year, Survivor is going to be one of the most rugged locations yet: Tocantins, the Brazilian highlands,” host Jeff Probst said in a statement. “Two tribes will be stranded in the majestic interior of Brazil for 39 days.”
Tocantins boasts an equatorial climate, which means there is no dry season, dangerous wildlife and hot temperatures.
Survivor Tocantins – The Brazilian Highlands premieres Thursday, February 12 at 8 pm on CBS.
