18th Installment of the Hit Television Series Premieres in High-Definition on Thursday, Feb. 12

CBS today announced the 16 castaways who will compete on SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS — THE BRAZILIAN HIGHLANDS, when the 18th installment of the Emmy Award-winning series premieres Thursday, Feb. 12 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS will prove to be one of the most rugged locations ever visited and the only relief from these harsh conditions will be a river oasis known as the Rio Novo. Left stranded in the majestic interior of Brazil for 39 days, these castaways will battle scorching temperatures, torrential downpours, and dangerous wildlife all in an effort to outwit, outplay, and outlast one another in order to win the title of Sole Survivor.

This season, the castaways will be divided into two separate tribes from the very beginning and these diverse individuals must immediately begin their game based solely on their first impressions of each other. In advance of any formal introduction and before the castaways speak their first words to each other, one person from each tribe will be chosen to remain behind and will not continue with their group on the journey that lies ahead. Will this mean the end for these two individuals or will they get a second chance to make a first impression?

I am excited about another new survivor night! I applied once to be on here but I guess I might be too old. But I have watched this show enough to know I could beat the pants off some of these whimps and NOT CRY ABOUT NOTHING! I have had a real tough reality life. And nothing they do no that show to me is hard except maybe live with a bunch of babies who whine. I am a 60 year old ex athlete Biker Chick! Grrrrrrrrr.

hi jeff, in the 18 seasons of survivor we have not missed an episode, as a matter of fact we have made is family night and take bets on who the winner will be, literally, we throw 2 dollars in a jar each every week and pick names, the winner comes away with a nice chunk of change, mind you my husband won the last 3.wish that you would let canadians on because my husband would be great for the show. keep up the great work

Jeff , I’ve watched suvivor every since your first show. My wife & Ireally enjoy watching it very much , But I have 1 question . Why is it that the Suvivor shows are always filmed in tropical areas ? Why not in a place such as Alaska , or some place like that ? Now that would really be a true Suvivor series. What do you think about it ? Thank you a true suvivor fan Edwin Main

Hi Jeff - can’t wait for the new season to start. It’s family fun night at my house. My brother and I want to see a FAMILY Survivor season. We (my brother & I) have 6 other siblings ranging from 50 to 40 and we’d be game for a family to family fight to the end. If we don’t win on strength, we could certainly win on wit, cunning and sibling rivalry….we would be hilarious ! Think it over and have your people contact my people ! Go Jeff !

    Jeff (you’re awesome!)
Have been a loyal (senior) fan since day one! Would love to me a “survivor” candidate as I have no doubt that I could kick “butt” with no whining involved. Where’s the common sense and work ethic of some of these younger people? My husband says that I’d be the first to be booted off but he’s wrong! Looking forward to watching many more years of Survivor!
Did I mention that I think you’re awesome?
