The iPod is hands down the most popular DAP on the planet. Now that everyone has an iPod, some people have started to look for ways to make their own stand out from the crowd. Not so long ago Fox introduced some interesting, custom engraved iPods with different characters from The Simpsons.
CBS wasn’t content to let Fox take all of the custom iPod action so it has announced a slew of limited edition, custom engraved iPods with images from some of its programs. Hard-core TV geeks can get iPod shuffle, nano, classic, and iPod touch players engraved with licensed artwork from CBS shows. Artwork is available from CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY, Beverly Hills 90210, Survivor, The Amazing Race, and various sports themes. The iPods are not cheap with prices ranging from $89 for a 1GB shuffle to $499 for a 16GB touch. I will say that the CBS iPods are nowhere near as cool as the Fox ones. The 90210 iPod has to be the strangest. Who would want a DAP with a show engraved on it that sucked before the iPod was even invented?
