Survivor: Gabon Finale - Age Triumps Beauty | Reality TV Magazine

Survivor: Gabon Finale - Age Triumps Beauty | Reality TV Magazine by DA Southern

The Final Tribal Council:  Jury Time

Susie started off by telling the jury that she just lasted longer so that is why she should win.  Bob said that he didn’t necessarily Outwit or Outplay but just outlasted them.  Sugar was the best speech as she said hat she truly made some good strategic decisions which may throw some votes to her in the end if the jury votes on the basis of what the game is all about.

Charlie was up first  and seemed especially brutal to the ladies and flirted with Bob

Crystal accused Susie of riding coat tails and said that Sugar manipulated Bob.

Kenny asked why Susie why he should give her the cash and told Sugar that he “Scarred” him.  Then Kenny still was harping on the darn immunity necklace debacle.

Corinne asked Susie if she would have her vocal cords removed and if Bob would be mean to Sugar.  She then made it clear that she was not going to vote for Sugar.

Marcus said that since he was a doctor and said something vague to Susie about being a role model.  He asked Sugar about giving some money to a charity and asked Bob if he was sorry about any decisions he had made.

Randy was cruel to Susie and insulted her.  He got after Sugar for being glad he was voted out and asked Bob if he didn’t want his vote.

Matty finished by asking Susie why the others were less deserving of the million dollars and actually gave a pretty decent answer.  Sugar announced that she was sorry for breaking Kenny’s heart and Bob answered that he was deserving of the million just as much as the others.

And The Winner Is…

Bowtie-wearing Bob Crowley, proving that nice-and-scrawny guys do not finish last, was named Sole Survivor on the 17th-season finale.

Bowtie-wearing Bob Crowley, proving that nice-and-scrawny guys do not finish last, was named Sole Survivor on the 17th-season finale.

The jury voted and we know that Matty voted for Susie and Corinne voted for Bob and no one, that we saw, voted for Sugar and Jeff was then whisked away with the results as entered the “Live Show” mode and the reveal of the winner.  In the vote, Bob got 4 votes, Susie got 3 votes and Sugar got NO votes, in a little bit of a surprise.  But it was a pretty good bet when Sugar forced the tie, that Bob was probably going to be the winner of Survivor: Gabon.  The biggest shock was that Susie made it a game in the end, but truly, the best man won.

Survivor: Gabon — Susie’s Second-Place Finish | Reality TV Magazine by Ryan Haidet

After flipping on the Onion Alliance, Susie Smith changed the outcome of Survivor: Gabon completely. She managed to work her way into the final three coming just one vote away from winning the $1 million prize (yup, she got three votes against Bob’s winning four). On the red carpet following the Survivor finale in Los Angeles, Susie spoke with RealityTVMagazine.com about her game, including why she deserved the three votes she got, what her family thought of watching her on TV, what she plans to do with her $100,000 second-place prize money and why she stayed in the bath tub at the Survivor auction for such a short amount of time. (Look in the article for a video about the new Survivor: Tocantins.

“I know I made it to the final three because I didn’t disrespect Crystal or Kenny or Matty or Sugar or Bob,” Susie, a 48-year-old hairdresser from Charles City, Iowa, said. “I didn’t disrespect anybody, so I was able to gain that from them and I think that’s why they gave me their vote. I think the reason Bob got the other votes was more because of loyalty — Kotas. I love Bob, but Bob flew under the radar like I did. It was late in the game when he started making strategic moves — just like I did. We were just the Indians, ‘We’ll do the work, you guys tell us what to do, ’cause you guys are young and you think you know what you’re doing.’ I shouldn’t have to defend it, I deserved it. I think it’s comical that some people went, ‘Uhhh, why would I get three?’ C’mon. You know what, I did my game the way I was supposed to play it and I’m sorry they’re disappointed.”

Survivor: Gabon — Sugar’s Emotional Journey | Reality TV Magazine by Ryan Haidet

Jessica “Sugar” Kiper made some moves during Survivor: Gabon that no fan could forget.

She made it all the way to the final three, and although she didn’t receive a single vote from the jury, Jessica “Sugar” Kiper made some moves during Survivor: Gabon that no fan could forget. During an exclusive interview on the red carpet following the Survivor: Gabon season finale, Sugar explained her hunt for the hidden immunity idol, why she liked Ace so much, what led her to make certain strategic moves and the connection she felt with her dad while playing the game.

But why did everybody call her Sugar? “That’s actually my real nickname,” she explained. “I’ve had that for 10 years from a 50s diner in San Francisco. I’ve used it whenever I had to have a 50s diner job, because I can’t work at a regular restaurant — it’s just too set and spiffy. I need to be able to shoot the shit with people, like customers.” This 29-year-old says she loves that decade so much that she wishes the clock could be turned back. “I’m not rockabilly or anything. I just really like the clothes, the fashion, the music and everything seems more simple. It didn’t seem as evil. If we could go back to the 50s I would do it in a heartbeat, that’d be cool.”

Not long before her stint on Survivor: Gabon, Sugar’s dad passed away, which took her on an emotional ride during the game. “I didn’t apply to Survivor: Gabon, it came to me at a time where I was pretty much, ‘What am I going to do with my life?’ It really needs to be something to help me get through what was going on with my dad. I’m not so sure that it was such a great idea to do it on television.” But Sugar says the experience was a good one for her. “The game made me stronger, the people made me stronger. Even knowing, which I didn’t know Randy and Corinne’s existed on this planet, made me stronger — so now I know what to look out for.”

Survivor: Gabon — Matty’s Adventure | Reality TV Magazine

Survivor: Gabon — Matty’s Adventure | Reality TV Magazine by Ryan Haidet

He experienced Gabon’s wildlife like a wide-eyed child, proposed to his girlfriend and finished near the top of the pack. Matty Whitmore, a 30-year-old personal trainer from Pacific Palisades, California, came in fourth place on Survivor: Gabon and told all about his experience during an exclusive interview with RealityTVMagazine.com on the red carpet after the live finale.

Matty was eliminated after Bob Crowley — the eventual winner of the $1 million — made fire quicker than he did in a tie-breaker challenge. “That felt pretty horrible because looking over at Bob — the ultimate Survivor — the guy’s got skills that I don’t know where they come from, but he’s got them. I probably defeated myself prior to the whole thing because I was intimidated and I knew Bob’s ability out there — his ability to make fire and make cages and traps and forts. He’s the man. I was nervous.”

It ended up being the challenge that cost him $1 million because the majority of the jury said they would have voted for him to win had he made it to the final three instead of Bob. “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t disappointing,” Matty said. “It’s very disappointing, but somebody told me after the show, ‘You give a man a fish, he eats for a day. You teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ That is what’s been holding me together. Having faith in that statement alone that it’s gonna be all right.”

Survivor: Gabon — Kenny Explains His Strategies | Reality TV Magazine

Survivor: Gabon — Kenny Explains His Strategies | Reality TV Magazine by Ryan Haidet

Kenny Hoang called himself the mastermind of Survivor: Gabon

Kenny Hoang called himself the mastermind of Survivor: Gabon

Kenny Hoang called himself the mastermind of Survivor: Gabon after he convinced others to knock out major players several times throughout the game. Kenny, a fast-talking 22-year-old, spilled secrets about his strategies immediately after the Survivor finale on Sunday. He talked all about his alliances, a deal he made with Bob and the fact that he didn’t go to the bathroom for more than half his game.

Coming in fifth place, Kenny’s fate was sealed after a deal he had made with Bob fell through. Kenny said Bob had agreed to hand over the immunity necklace if he won it at the next challenge. This would make up for the lie Bob told to Kenny about the fake idol he fashioned in an effort to save Corinne. “When I talked to Bob that night, my plan was for him to give me the immunity necklace since he was on an immunity run and such a huge threat,” Kenny said. “I didn’t even ask for it — he was the one who came up and he’s like, ‘OK, I’ll give you immunity if you don’t win the next time.’”

As luck would have it, Bob won the next immunity challenge and when the time came to give it to Kenny, he backed out. “When we went on the reward that night I was like, ‘Are you really being genuine or are you lying to me?’ I kind of thought, like no way he’s going to give it up. He’s probably going to lie to me. So when we went on the reward, he kind of made up extra things to attach to it — extra baggage — to the deal. The deal was, if he won it, he’d give it to me.”
